Matt Burnett (Gladstone City Council)

Matt was first elected to Gladstone City Council in March 2000 and was returned in March 2004.

At the post election meeting Matt was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the then Technical Services Committee now Infrastructure Services.

The Infrastructure Services Department has a budget of \$25M (half the total Council budget) and operates with a staff of approximately 150.

The Department is responsible for Roads, Traffic Management, Water Supply, Drainage, Sewerage, Plant and Equipment, Planning and Design and Disaster Management.

Matt represents Council on the Gladstone/Calliope Aerodrome Board and was unanimously elected Vice President of the Board in April 2004.

He is also on the Traffic & Environment Advisory Board. He has previously represented Council on The Civic Beautification Committee, The Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Municipal Band Committee.

He has also represented Gladstone as a delegate on the Urban Local Government Association for the past six years.

Matt also represents the Gladstone community as a member of the Gladstone District Health Council.
